When transferring the EEPROM sticks and DIP memory ICs, use an IC extraction tool rather than a screwdriver to avoid snapping delicate legs or cracking socket housings. Pay strict attention to pin 1 orientation (notch on the chip matching the socket mark) before applying pressure.
